Classic silent drama directed by Arthur Robison and starring Lya De Putti and Lars Hanson. During the Irish Civil War of 1922, the brutish Gypo Nolan (Hanson) is desperate for money. In love with Katie Fox (De Putti), the girlfriend of a fellow rebel, Gypo wishes to emigrate to America but needs £10 to do so.
He decides to inform on Katie's partner Francis McPhillip (Carl Harbord) - who has been hiding underground after killing a local police chief - and claim the £20 reward to secure his and Katie's future happiness. Before long however, Gypo finds himself troubled by his conscience.
