This is a new title in "Young Reading Series Three", which is aimed at children whose reading ability and confidence allows them to tackle longer and more complex stories. The book tells the story of the crusaders, who travelled from around Europe to the Holy Land to reclaim Jerusalem. Beginning with the early crusades of the 11th Century, this book covers all the major people, places and events of the Crusades, including Richard the Lionheart and Saladin, right through to the last crusades of the 13th Century. It is developed in consultation with Alison Kelly, who is a senior lecturer in education and an early reading specialist from Roehampton University.
