Myaskovsky is known as the ‘father of the Soviet symphony’. The previous Naxos release (8.555376) featuring his Symphonies Nos. 24 and 25 garnered critical acclaim. Alexander Rudin’s recordings for Naxos to date have all been as a cellist; this is his conducting debut for Naxos.
