Now Frang has recorded the mighty Beethoven Violin Concerto, an epic, lyrical work which opens the way to the Romantic era. She pairs it with Stravinsky’s compact violin concerto, composed more than a century after Beethoven’s death – a work which pays spiky tribute to 18th century models. The conductor is Pekka Kuusisto, himself an adventurous violinist, in his role as Artistic Best Friend of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
