Errol Morris's reputation as a documentary filmmaker is second to none, and this collection of three films offers viewers the chance to see some of his best work. GATES OF HEAVEN: Independent doc maker Morris (THE THIN BLUE LINE, FAST, CHEAP AND OUT OF CONTROL) interviews pet cemetery proprietors, pet owners, embalmers, as they talk candidly about their feelings for the dear departed and their work dealing with the bereaved. A typically off-center look at American obsessions. THE THIN BLUE LINE: Through the use of reenactments of the crime, photo montages, film clips and interviews, this is a reconstruction and investigation of the 1976 murder of a Dallas policeman and the subsequent arrest and sentencing to death of a man who claims to be innocent. VERNON, FLORIDA: A series of interviews with such unique citizens as an avid wild turkey hunter, an elderly couple who vacationed at a nuclear test site and returned with sand they insist is growing, a worm farmer, a 93-year old man who thinks his pet turtle is a gopher and others from this small, backwoods town.
